SHORT CV

Dr. Raz Zimmt – Israeli Expert on Iran (INSS)

Physically he lives in Israel, virtually, in Iran.

He is a research fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), at the Alliance Center for Iranian Studies at Tel-Aviv University and editor of “Spotlight on Iran” published by the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center.

He received his B.A. in Middle Eastern history from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1992. He earned his M.A. in Middle Eastern History (specializing in Iranian modern history) from Tel Aviv University in 2001, and his Ph.D. in Middle Eastern history from Tel-Aviv University in 2011. His Dissertation, supervised by Professor David Menashri and Professor Eyal Zisser, focused on Iranian Policy towards Nasserism and Arab Radicalism between 1954 and 1967.

His main research interests are the politics, foreign relations, society & social media of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
