DIMITRIS N. CHRYSSOCHOOU

Dimitris N. Chryssochoou is Associate Professor of European Integration at Panteion University, Athens. He studied at the University of Athens (BA in Political Science and Public Administration, with distinction), the London School of Economics and Political Science (MSc in European Studies), and the University of Reading (PhD in Politics). He has been Associate Professor of International Organization at the University of Crete, Reader in European Integration at the University of Exeter, Scientific Director of the Defence Analysis Institute in Athens, Visiting Fellow at the Centre of International Studies at the University of Cambridge and at the LSE European Institute, Associate Scholar at Pembroke College, Cambridge, Visiting Scholar at the Institute on Western Europe at Columbia University, Visiting Professor at the Universities of Athens and Panteion, Senior Research Fellow at the Hellenic Centre for European Studies, and Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for European Constitutional Law in Athens. His research focuses on European integration, international theory, and democratic theory. His books include: Theorizing European Integration (Routledge, 2009), Theory and reform in the European Union (Manchester University Press, 2003, with M. J. Tsinisizelis, S. Stavridis, K. Ifantis), The emerging Euro-Mediterranean system (Manchester University Press, 2001, with D. K. Xenakis), Democracy in the European Union (I. B. Tauris, 1998).
